BOM = Bill Of Materials
The BOM file should contain all the necessary information to successfully source the components. The values should be clear and unambiguous - you can enter, for example, the manufacturer's part number or a link to the distributor. We would also appreciate information about possible substitutes, as well as photos of components or the entire assembled board.
The BOM should contain all elements appearing on the PCB, including information about elements not assembled in a given production batch. Elements not mounted should be clearly described.
The BOM should be segregated and separated between top SMT and bottom SMT components; similarly top and bottom THT. File should be prepared preferably in Excel.
Please pay special attention to:
- Resistors. Values without tolerance are taken as 5%. If different tolerance is needed, please provide it.
- Capacitors. In addition to the capacity value, you must enter the permissible operating voltage and the type of dielectric.
- Footprint - the component housing must be specified.
- Quantities. You should enter how many pieces of each component is to be assembled on singular PCB.
- Designators.
- Additional info. Everything that can help with assembly/purchase of components.
In case of doubts, we always contact you for clarification. However, this means longer valuation/assembly times.
